I’m not a big fan of decorating for Halloween (mainly out of laziness), much to the dismay of my six-year-old son, who starts forlornly pointing out the spookified houses in our neighborhood every year at this time. I do love buying those crazy little wart-covered gourds that are abundant at the super-markets this time of year—those are scary enough for me, and fun to display in a big wooden bowl! But, if I were to step up the spook, I would take inspiration from a costume party that designer Summer Thornton threw that appeared on Apartment Therapy last year. I also like these skull candles from West Elm ($5.99-$12.99) and these Glittered Halloween Skeletons ($149) on MarthaStewart.com. Maybe next year, kiddo! (Not.)
