A Romeoville bank was robbed this afternoon by a man who gave a teller a note that demanded money and said he had a gun, police said.

The man robbed a PNC Bank branch at 495 N. Weber Road just before 2:20 p.m. today, Romeoville Police said in a news release.

The robber gave a teller the note, but did not show a gun. He took money from bank workers and then fled on foot, heading southeast, police said.

The robber was described as white, between 20 and 25 years old, standing about 5-foot-6 and weighing about 175 pounds.

He had short black hair, and video stills of the robbery show he was wearing a dark, puffy coat.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 815-886-7219 or the FBI at 312-421-6700.
