BELGRADE, May 20 (Reuters) – Serbian rightist opposition

leader Tomislav Nikolic, declaring victory on Sunday in a

presidential election, said the country “will not stray from its

European path.”

Nikolic, a former ally of late Serb strongman Slobodan

Milosevic, narrowly beat liberal incumbent Boris Tadic in a

run-off in which less than half of Serb voters turned out,

according to an unofficial projection by pollster CESID.
