Let’s talk about sex statistics, Chicago.
An annual survey by Trojan condoms released Wednesday has the numbers on where Chicago ranks under the sheets. In a survey of 100 men and 100 women in 10 U.S. cities, Chicagoans seem to need a little more excitement in their lives than other cities. Here’s a breakdown of the interesting stuff:
>> Chicago is tied for last in cities surveyed for the least amount of average sexual partners in a lifetime. Chicagoans averaged 14, way overshadowed by New York and Atlanta, each at an average of 25.
>> Chicago ties for first with Philadelphia and Miami in the number of respondents who say they are in a committed, monogamous relationship. In all three cities, 76 percent reported being off the market.
>> One being very low and 10 being very high, Chicago, Houston and San Francisco averaged a 6.7 when rating their sex drives.
>> Chicago and Dallas/Ft. Worth ranked lowest on a 1 to 10 scale of sexual adventurousness. Ten being the highest, Chicago and Dallas Ft. Worth ranked a 6.6. Atlanta topped the list at a 7.4.
>> When they aren’t having it, Chicagoans are thinking about sex. Sometimes. On average, Chicagoans said they think about the deed eight times a day. That’s right in the middle. Folks in L.A. said 13, while San Francisco came in with a 5.
>> On average, Chicagoans are having sex three times per week 35 mintutes at a time. 63 percent said they were satisfied with their sex lives, and 53 percent said it needs charging up.
>> Top five ways Chicagoans say they try to spice up their sex lives (respondents could choose more than one):
o Spontaneous dex: 46 percent
o Trying something new: 42 percent
o Having sex somewhere different: 35 percent
o Using lube: 33 percent
o Watching porn: 33 percent
>> What’s does the Windy City listen to when it gets down? R&B; was the choice for most at 26 percent, with rock, jazz and pop rounding out the top four at 23 percent, 15 percent and 15 percent respectively.
