Recap: Texas-El Paso 41, New Mexico State 28

Texas-El Paso 41, New Mexico State 28: Nick Lamaison passed for 309 yards and four touchdowns as the host Miners scored the first 27 points and cruised past visiting New Mexico State.

Josh Bell rushed for two touchdowns and the Miners (1-2) rolled up 497 yards while beating the Aggies (1-2) in the 90th meeting between the two schools located about 40 miles apart.

Bell scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards and Lamaison threw a 3-yard scoring pass to Kevin Perry and a 32-yarder to Jordan Leslie as the Miners built the 27-0 lead. In the second half, Lamaison tossed a 17-yard scoring pass to Craig Wenrick and a 36-yarder to Michael Edwards.

New Mexico State got on the board late in the first half on a 37-yard pass from Andrew Manley to Austin Franklin. Tiger Powell scored on a 1-yard run midway through the third quarter. Manley added two fourth-quarter touchdown passes and finished with 277 yards.
