Recap: Ohio State vs. Marquette, ppd.
No. 4 Ohio State vs. Marquette, ppd.: The game between the Buckeyes and the Golden Eagles was postponed because of condensation on the court.
The game was to be played on the deck of the USS Yorktown, which resides in the Patriots Point complex in Charleston Harbor in Charleston, S.C. Both teams warmed up, but condensation developed on the court shortly before the scheduled tipoff. The condensation apparently was caused by a drop in temperatures early Friday evening.
Several workers attempted to wipe off the court using towels and mops. Marquette coach Buzz Williams, who was wearing combat boots, was among those on his hands and knees trying to keep the court dry. After several minutes the teams warmed up again, but returned to their locker rooms a short time later. Following another delay of 20 minutes, the game was postponed at 7:56 p.m ET.
No makeup date was scheduled because both teams play Sunday. Ohio State hosts Albany while Marquette hosts Colgate.
