The Unicorn is one of the 14 tall ships, each with its own history and mission, that are scheduled to arrive at Navy Pier on Wednesday. Tall ships are large sailing vessels that are traditionally rigged and vary in the number of masts and the cuts of the sails.
Where: Navy Pier’s East End, 600 E. Grand Ave., Chicago
When: Parade of Sail — 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday
Festival with tour and sail opportunities — 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Costs: Free dockside boarding and general admission for the Parade of Sail on Wednesday.
General admission Thursday through Sunday: $5 adults and children, $4 for military with ID or groups of 10 or more.
Dockside boarding Thursday through Sunday: $25 for adults and $12 for children with a $1 discount for online ticket purchases; $17 for adults and $10 for children in a group of 10 or more; military discount with ID $19 for adults and $6 for children.
Sail on one of the tall ships Wednesday through Sunday: $69 for a 75-minute ride or $99 for a 120-minute ride, $229 for a ride during the Parade of Sail; prices are the same for all ages with no military or group discounts.
