Oct 28 (Reuters) – Citgo Petroleum Corp said it

would initiate partial restart of the crude unit next week at

its 174,500 barrel-per-day (bpd) Lemont, Illinois, refinery,

according to a statement by the company on Monday.

The refinery shut the crude unit after a fire on Oct 23.

The fire was limited to the vacuum distillation section of

the crude unit and that section has been isolated, the

statement said.

The company will restart the atmospheric section of the

crude unit at reduced rates by the end of next week.

“The atmospheric distillation unit is going through an

extensive safety review and is being completely isolated from

the vacuum distillation equipment,” the statement said.

“There is no information on timing for the vacuum

distillation unit repairs,” it said.
