Two visits to Notre Dame apparently convinced Blake Barnett to take up semi-permanent residence.
Barnett, a junior dual threat quarterback from California, made an oral commitment to the Irish on Sunday, he announced via his Twitter account.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Barnett attended both the Irish’s game against USC in October and then revisited campus for a frigid win over BYU on Saturday. It will be a while before the pledge turns into anything material, though: The Corona, Calif., native is the second commitment in Notre Dame’s Class of 2015 recruiting haul.
Barnett has not yet been rated by Rivals.com, but he reportedly held offers from Arizona, California, Colorado, Mississippi, UCLA and West Virginia.
