United will keep its name on the United Center for 20 more years. Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
The United Center and its namesake airline on Wednesday announced a new sponsorship deal that will retain the stadium’s name for the next 20 years.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. The stadium, home to the Bulls and Blackhawks, opened in 1994.
The United Center is also expected to undergo some updates and upgrades on the inside and out as part of the deal, including more LED boards. Those are expected to be installed over the next four to six months and formally unveiled in the spring.
The Bulls, Blackhawks and United Airlines have also agreed to develop and support some community outreach programs, which are also expected to be detailed in the spring.¿
