Dec 27 (Reuters) – Four U.S. military personnel detained in

Libya have been released, a U.S. defense official said on

Friday.

“All four (have been) released,” the official said on

condition of anonymity.

The circumstances under which the four were detained

remained unclear. More than two years after the collapse of

Muammar Gaddafi’s government, Libya remains in turmoil and the

government of Prime Minister Ali Zeidan is struggling with

widespread insecurity.
