Lightning struck a Naperville home Saturday afternoon causing about $35,000 in damage.

Firefighters were called to the 0-99 block of Foxcroft Road on the city’s south side at about 2:50 p.m. Saturday and found damage to the front of the home as well as smoke inside, but no fire, according to a news release from fire officials.

The sole occupant exited safely. Firefighters determined the house had been struck by lightning. It was deemed uninhabitable due to extensive damage to the electrical system, officials said.
