Barn & Co. (950 W. Wrightwood Ave., 773-832-4000) will host a Pitmaster Dinner ($60 plus 20-percent gratuity) from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 22. Chef/pitmaster Gary Wiviott’s three-course menu will be paired with drinks from Shiner Brewery and Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails.

Following a Tito’s Lemonade aperitif, the first course comprises Texas Caviar (black-eyed peas and black beans in a fiery sauce) with Texas GunPowder chips and Southfork Ranch-style Armadillo eggs (sausage-wrapped jalapeno peppers stuffed with cheese). It’s paired with Shiner Bock. The entree is a smoke-roasted cowboy ribeye steak, which is dusted with coffee and cayenne and served with charred jalapeno and onion jam. Accompanying sides include pinto beans and fried okra with buttermilk ranch dip and the second course is paired with Shiner Black Lager. For dessert there’s pecan pie with cocoa nib whipped cream served with Tito’s Cafe.

Reservations are recommended.
