Halloween Hoopla
The Jewett Park Community Center will host its Halloween Hoopla from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 24 and from 3 to 9 p.m. Oct. 25. Enjoy haunted houses, bonfires, hayrides, games and much more. General admission for Saturday festivities is $5 for children and $8 for unlimited visits to the “Lights-On” Haunted House. 1950s party
Award-winning photographer Jeff Cohen of Highland Park is celebrating two years in business with a 1950s Halloween party at 7 p.m. Oct. 24. The bash, taking place at Cohen’s studio, will feature his 1954 Chevy-turned love seat that has served as the set for many celebrity photographs. 1950s costumes are encouraged. Blues at Norton’s
“Shortstack” Steve’s Rockin Blues Revue will join forces with Chicago blues performer Liz Mandeville at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at Norton’s Restaurant. Both acts have established themselves as staples on the North Shore blues scene. There is no cover charge. Norton’s Restaurant is located at 1905 Sheridan Road, Highland Park. Trick or treat
Downtown Highland Park will turn into a Halloween haven for trick or treaters from 4 to 6 p.m. next Thursday, Oct. 30. Stores will be handing out candy and there will be a DJ, face painting, dancing and more at Renaissance Place. For more information, go to downtownhp.com.
