An eastward-moving low will pass south of Chicago on Thursday. Its clouds and showers will spread over the area and continue during the morning, with clouds thinning and showers ending from mid-day on.Easterly winds will continue to keep temperatures cool along the lakefront, while highs farther inland will again reach into the 60s.

Warm-up precedes weekend rain

High pressure will dominate our area Friday into Saturday with abundant sunshine boosting afternoon highs into the 70s Friday.As that high pressure area slides east and low pressure develops in the central Plains, clouds will once again spread over our area from the west during the day Saturday. Rain should spread over the area as the low approaches Saturday night and continue Sunday into Monday as the low tracks slowly east.
