Richmond’s past
Why is Waukegan’s J.R., known as Jereme Richmond, featured in the newspaper? He should be playing for the Statesville Prison basketball team and not be rewarded for his bad behavior. He was given chance after chance at a dream that most honest and respectful young men and women should be getting. Let’s not forget J.R.’s past with his threats, drug use and criminal actions.
Protected by union
People shouldn’t be surprised that Fox Lake police Lt. Joe Gliniewicz stayed on the force with all his different indiscretions popping up over the years that he had in his file. This man was in a union which protects people and it’s hard to get rid of them. My father was in a union and I’ve heard numerous stories about how things work during the grievance procedure and how they protect their own.
Apologies are due
I don’t know about anyone else but I think there are two apologies that are in order. The first is to the city of Waukegan and its residents, and the other to the Lake County Coroner Dr. Thomas Rudd. The News-Sun should title one of its stories concerning the suicide of police officer Lt. Gliniewicz, “I would be afraid to live in Fox Lake” as it appears that Fox Lake officials did not do their jobs dealing with Gliniewicz’s long history of criminal behavior. Or the newspaper needs to apologize to the many proud and good citizens of Waukegan for the sensationalistic headline a few weeks ago — “I would be afraid to live in Waukegan” — which was mean spirited, cruel and frankly juvenile. Next apology should be from the law enforcement officials that criticized Dr. Rudd when he did not come to the immediate conclusion that the death of Gliniewicz was a homicide. Rudd stated that his final decision was not to be decided until all the evidence and facts were in. He ended up to be just about the only person that did not jump on the hero bandwagon which made a national spectacle of a very sad and disturbing situation.
Vote for most qualified
After reading a TOTC comment that said that GOP women were willing to jump across party lines to vote for Hillary Clinton simply to have the first woman president, I was shocked at that writer’s ignorance. I cannot believe that women, whether GOP or Democrats, would throw away a vote to simply have the first of anything, let alone President of the United States. Let’s vote for the most qualified person, and it is not Hillary. Vote with your brain.
We need Keystone Pipeline
It looks like President Obama is rejecting the Keystone Pipeline plan again. The Keystone would have created so many jobs and would’ve reduced the Middle East dependency on fuel, gas and oil. Why does Obama reject it? It’s because the fanatics in the Sierra Club don’t like it, they hate gas. Everyone says it’s economically the right thing to do except the leftwingers that refuse to budge on this issue. When the price of oil goes up again we’re going to pay at the pump, and maybe next time those prices won’t come back down.
Kind words
This is a response to the person who wrote “Kind Vista employees.” Thank you for your kind words. I will miss my job and all the great people I met and helped.
