A man shot to death in the Lawndale neighborhood Wednesday afternoon has been identified, authorities said Friday.

Kewan Gillespie, 18, was pronounced dead at 3:59 p.m. on Wednesday after being shot in the back in the 3100 block of West Douglas Boulevard, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An 18-year-old man was shot to death in the Lawndale neighborhood just before 3:45 p.m., police said.

The man was seen running from another man who shot him in the back and then ran away as the victim collapsed on a porch, police said.

Police were called at 3:44 p.m. and found Gillespie, who the medical examiner’s office said lived in the 8500 block of South Aberdeen Street.
