When Chitty returned to Chicago from a yearlong road trip in January, the 37-year-old found herself having a breakout moment. Eight of her minimalist sculptures and photographs sold to collectors at Expo Chicago (an unprecedented total for a relative unknown), and Patron Gallery tapped her for a solo show. Collectors took note: “Her art nags at you,” says Susan Goodman, who owns three Chitty pieces. “You want to see more.”
