As we previously reported, Ikea has commissioned a canary yellow and bright blue food truck to traverse the city and give out free meatballs, like some sort of magical fairy imparting heavenly gifts on unassuming carnivores.
And it’s finally here.
Starting Wednesday at Ohio Street and Michigan Avenue, the Ikea food truck will make stops throughout the city, leading up to its presence at Wicker Park Fest this weekend. Tune in to Ikea’s social channels (this one, at least, appears to be tweeting the truck’s location) for Thursday’s and Friday’s locations.
Ikea staff will serve the three featured meatballs until 8 p.m. each day, or while supplies last. On offer are the classic kottbullar with lingonberry; the veggie California stack with ginger, avocado and veganaise; and the buffalo chicken bite, doused in hot sauce with a chunk of blue cheese.

The new meatball flavors are also available in all Ikea restaurant locations, as well as online.
