A 26-year-old Gary man was sentenced to 11 1/2 years in prison Thursday for his role in a robbery spree in Lake Station.
Tyyell Hall was also ordered to pay $1,781 in restitution to be shared by his alleged accomplice, Earl Windham, of Indianapolis.
Hall and Windham robbed Rich’s Gas Station, 4301 Central Ave., Lake Station, on Dec. 8, 2014, and again on Jan. 15, 2015, according to court documents. Windham was also charged in the Jan. 19, 2015, robbery of Dollar General, 2828 Central Ave., Lake Station, and teamed up with Hall to rob the store again on March 6, 2015, documents said.
Hall pleaded guilty to five federal charges related to the robberies, court records stated. Windham was previously sentenced to 116 months in prison after pleading guilty to six federal counts involving robbery and unlawful use of a firearm.
