It may be a little hard to mind your manners at The Polite Pig in Disney Springs once you catch sight of the food.
At least, that’s how I felt during a recent visit hosted by the proprietors for media.
This fast-casual eatery is from The Swine Family. James Petrakis of Winter Park’s The Ravenous Pig and his brother, Brian Petrakis of Orlando eatery Greens & Grille, have partnered to manage The Polite Pig.
The Polite Pig’s menu focuses on seasonal ingredients cooked well — similarly to The Ravenous Pig, James Petrakis said during the media visit.
This isn’t an “official” review, but a look at some of the dishes available at this eatery.
It’s a counter-service restaurant with a fairly open kitchen (windows separate the dining room from busily cooking employees).

Taps pour everything from cold brew coffee ($4) to vodka lemonade ($10). The Polite Pig also serves more than 70 types of bourbon.
Besides Cask & Larder brews, other Florida beers are available, including Red Cypress, Central 28, MIA and Cigar City ($9 for a 20-ounce).
Diners can snack on dishes like BBQ cracklins ($5), smoked chicken wings ($11), peel-and-eat shrimp ($14) and the pretzel below ($10).
Meat-free options consist of several salads and sides. Diners can pick three sides such as charred broccoli salad, barbecue cauliflower, baked beans and more for $15.
Your standard barbecue proteins — brisket, pork, ribs, etc. — are available for sandwiches and plates, as is wild salmon.
The fork-tender brisket with its flavorful bark stood out during our media preview.
As for the sides I tried:
Tomato and watermelon somehow became even more refreshing with a liberal dusting of feta and basil in the salad. The Polite Pig’s sweet potato tots didn’t have the usual flaky texture — these were a bit more smooth. As fellow blogger Christina Thomas said, the sweet roll tasted almost like a King’s Hawaiian Roll.
Dessert choices are either a happily tart version of key lime pie and an oh-so-sweet orange blossom honey cake.
The Polite Pig is located in the Town Center neighborhood of Disney Springs, just outside of the Lime garage. Hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-midnight Friday-Saturday.
