A West Side man fatally shot in an Austin neighborhood attack that left two other people wounded over the weekend has been identified.

Johnny Graves, 34, of the 800 block of South Austin Boulevard, was pronounced dead at 1:53 a.m. Sunday at Stroger Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Graves, who died after being shot multiple times, was attacked in the 4900 block of West Hubbard Street, according to the office.

Graves was one of at least eight people shot in the Austin neighborhood within a little more than four hours from Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Graves was walking with at least two other people about 1:10 a.m. Sunday when someone opened fire at them on Hubbard. A 33-year-old man shot in the left shoulder and a 23-year-old woman shot in the left hand also were taken to Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized.

No one was in custody.
