Rather than putting a ton of effort into an outing and then just hitting one spot, why not extend the adventure? This week, we’re pairing a visit to the Driehaus Museum’s French poster exhibit with a meal at Bistronomic.
Main attraction: The Driehaus Museum
40 E. Erie St. 312-482-8933
How much: $20 per adult
Take a trip to Paris with this date starting at The Driehaus Museum in River North. “L’Affichomania: The Passion for French Posters” exhibit is on display through January 7, 2018, and showcases around 50 vibrant works that blend advertisement with fine art. One commonly reproduced and recognizable piece in the exhibit is “Le Chat Noir.” After gettin’ yourself cultured, continue the theme of the date with a French meal.
Don’t stop: Bistronomic
840 N. Wabash Ave. 312-944-8400
How much: $10.95-$56
Head to Bistronomic for French fare in the form of cheese, wine and the country’s signature dishes like duck and escargot. Try a few small and medium plates like the chef’s rotating choice of tartare ($12.95), black mussels with basil puree ($15.95) and the crispy duck confit ($17.95), or order a meal for two like the roasted rack of lamb with ratatouille ($56). Don’t forget to break up the meal with multiple glasses of wine.
