A series of traditional Halloween-related activities will take place in Glencoe Oct. 31.
Village Manager Phil Kiraly said at the Oct. 19 village board meeting that trick-or-treating hours will be between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Public Safety Director Cary Lewandowski asked adults to supervise young children as they move through the community, and for motorists to be observant and look out for little ones in costumes.
Also, the Glencoe Chamber of Commerce is slated to host a “Halloween Hello” that will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. as some downtown stores distribute candy to children, according to Sally Sprowl, the chamber’s executive director.
Finally, the Glencoe Historical Society will host “Ghosts of the Garden,” where inflatable Halloween-related displays such as tombstones and skeleton parts can be seen outside its 375 Park Avenue location, GHS board member Ed Goodale said. He added that candy will be given out to children who stop by.
