Swiss goalkeeper Roman Burki has signed a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund, the club announced Friday.
Burki’s new deal is set to keep him with the Bundesliga side until 2021.
“Roman is the perfect fit for Borussia Dortmund on both a sporting and personal level,” said Sporting Director Michael Zorc.
“We like his style of play, see great potential for development in him and assume he will soon show that on a regular basis.”
The Swiss international joined Dortmund in 2015 from Freiburg, accumulating 67 appearances in goal thus far, and winning the DFB Pokal last season.
“I’m very pleased with the trust Borussia Dortmund have placed in me, especially during such a tough time. I’m thrilled and proud to be the goalkeeper of such a great team, to which I give my all,” said Burki.
