The rain held off Sunday morning for the start of the Healthy Driven Naperville Half Marathon and 5K.
Race results show 2,431 runners competed in the half marathon and there were 538 entries in the 5K race.
In the half marathon, a Hillside man crossed the finish line first with a time of 1 hour, 12 minutes, 41 seconds.
Leighton Becher, 24, of Hillside beat out the second-place runner by 26 seconds.
The Naperville man who finished the highest was Ben Bocher, 36, who came in third with a time of 1 hour, 15 minutes, 26 seconds.
Naperville resident Amber White, 32, came in first among the women with a time of 1 hour, 21 minutes, 36 seconds.
Another Naperville resident, Becca Ward, 41, finished second overall for women with a time of hour, 27 minutes, 47 seconds.
This year organizers replaced the full marathon with a 5K race to encourage more people get active.
Nate Kennedy, 31, of Winfield was the top 5K finisher with a time of 18 minutes, 11 seconds, followed by David Stone, 32, of Aurora, who was 25 seconds behind.
Naperville’s Corey Puckett, 27, placed third with a time of 19 minutes.
For women, 39-year-old Jennifer Garrison of Naperville crossed the finish line first in the 5K with a time of 19 minutes, 37 seconds. Garrison was a minute ahead of the second-place female finisher, a 29-year-old from Chicago.
