As the Republican proposal to overhaul the tax policy of the United States is unveiled, I have several questions: What taxes did President Donald Trump pay last year? What deductions did he take? How would the current tax plan benefit him and his family of advisers in the White House?
We know the exact tax rate of a family making $59,000 a year, but we have no idea of what a boon this proposal will be to our president, who owns a family business worth, according to Trump, billions. I would urge that no member of Congress vote on this bill until Trump reveals his taxes, and we can see exactly how much he will benefit. Transparency matters.
