
Police say a group of teenagers committed four robberies on the Far South Side in recent weeks.
In each case, two armed teens approached people who were alone and demanded purses and cellphones, Chicago police said in a community alert.
The teenagers then jumped in a nearby getaway car driven by two other teens, police said.
The teens were described as black, between 14 and 18, standing around 5 feet and 5 inches tall and weighing 130 to 150 pounds.
The drove a silver four-door sedan, according to police.
The two most recent of the robberies happened Monday, the first around 9:15 a.m. in the 10900 block of South Church Street in the Morgan Park neighborhood and the next around 9:40 a.m. in the 2100 block of West 98th Street in Beverly.
One person was robbed Sunday around 9:35 a.m. in the 9900 block of South Damen Avenue in Beverly, and another on Oct. 12 around 10:40 a.m. in the 9500 block of South Damen Avenue, also in Beverly.
