A woman accused of driving the wrong way for five miles on Interstate 290 early Friday has been charged with a misdemeanor for driving under the influence, authorities said.
Tania A. Cabrera, 21, drove a white vehicle west in the eastbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway from South Ashland Avenue to South Austin Boulevard, according to Illinois State Police.
State police were alerted to the incident about 2:50 a.m.
Oak Park police assisted in stopping Cabrera’s vehicle once she exited the expressway at Austin Boulevard.
