A man already suspected in two Chicago bank robberies this week robbed two more banks, both in the Loop, Friday morning, according to the FBI.
The man is suspected of robbing two Chase bank branches two blocks from each other within less than half an hour Friday morning. In each of the robberies, the man implied that he had a weapon and made off with cash, according to FBI spokesman Special Agent Garrett Croon.
Most recently, about 8:35 a.m., the man robbed a Chase bank at 55 E. Monroe St., the FBI said.
Less than half an hour earlier, about 8:10 a.m., the man had robbed a Chase branch at 10 S. Dearborn St., the FBI said.
On Thursday, just after 9 a.m., the man robbed US Bank, 5201 W. Madison St. in the Austin neighborhood, the FBI said.
On Wednesday, the man robbed a Fifth Third Bank, 601 S. Clark St., in the South Loop, the FBI said.
The man was described as white, in his 20s or 30s, with light complexion and black hair, standing 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 and weighing between 140 and 150 pounds. In the robberies Thursday and Friday he was wearing a dark-colored winter jacket with a fur-lined hood and green camouflage pants.
A $1,000 reward is being offered in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-421-6700.
