Mike from Tinley Park talked about the greatest generation that fought in World War II. That war, along with the Korean and Vietnam wars, were fought by draftees — people pulled off the street, trained to be soldiers and thrown into action. The people fighting in wars now are volunteers. Meanwhile, millennials say, “I need a safe spot.” They should be put into the U.S. Army and sent wherever they’re needed. If you’re physically unable to perform military duties, there’s other jobs. Everybody should have to serve. Maybe it’ll teach them what this country’s all about. I was in the army for two years. I never went overseas but did my engineering job. . .

Someone wrote in and nailed it. Retirees and those who are about to, worked all their lives to get Social Security to have at least enough to live on. Now, we have to continue working out of necessity until we die. All our hard work is lost. Why? Because our federal government politicians illegally raided our savings (Social Security) to benefit themselves or their pork/pet projects. The blame is on both sides of the aisle. They feel they can do anything. Their actions not only relate to retirement but also to all the problems we have now.
