A man shot in the leg in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Monday afternoon refused to help police investigate the attack, police said.

The 23-year-old man told investigators he was in the 4200 block of West Jackson Boulevard about 12:45 p.m. when he was shot in the left leg, according to a police media notification.

The man went in a private vehicle to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he sought treatment.

When investigators tried to interview him, he was “uncooperative with police as to the circumstances of this shooting,” according to the notification.

No one was in custody.
