Q: What do you enjoy about your work?

A: I primarily represent tenants and landlords in lease negotiations, and I really enjoy working alongside them and helping their businesses grow.

Q: How did you get interested in this line of work?

A: I always had an interest in land and that proved to be a natural connection to real estate.

Q: How has the business changed, especially given the real estate crash approximately 10 years ago???

A: The recession lasted for about five years, but then it has come back. The newest issue out there, particularly among real estate tenants, is Amazon. A lot of attention in 2018 will be focused on retailers being strategic in their store operations.

Q: Do you think there will be still be shopping malls in 10 years???

A: The marketplace has been around for more than 5,000 years, from the Greek cities and before. People are always going to have a desire to get out and be around other people. The idea of the enclosed shopping mall will probably disappear, but people will always have a need for a marketplace. Retail will have to evolve to address (their) changing shopping patterns.

Q: Where would you like to ski one day that you never have?

A: I would love to go to Jackson Hole, Wyo., because my wife used to live there and has always told me how great it is.

Q: Where would you like to do some bicycling?

A: I would love to be on the Champs-Élysées in Paris on the last day of the Tour de France, and then I would like to cycle in the Swiss Alps.
