A Lake County Sheriff’s Office police dog was able to track a Chicago woman who threatened suicide through a text message over the weekend near Lake Forest.
On Saturday night, sheriff deputies were dispatched to a business on Waukegan Road in Shields Township for a suicidal 46-year-old woman, according to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies searched the area, but could not find her. Then Dax, one of the Sheriff Office’s police dogs, was called in and he was able to track her to some nearby bushes where she was found uninjured. She was taken to a hospital for a psychological evaluation, according to the statement.
