A man who died after he was found with stab wounds outside a home on Aurora near East Side has been identified as Marvin Dean, 51, of Aurora.
Kane County Coroner Rob Russell said a preliminary autopsy showed that Dean died due to multiple stab wounds.
Police received a 911 call for a person stabbed in the 600 block of Hinman Street just before 5:15 a.m. Saturday, officials said.
Aurora Fire Department paramedics attempted life-saving measures and took Dean to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.
Detectives began interviewing potential witnesses and canvassed the neighborhood, officials said.
