Three people were taken to hospitals after a vehicle hit a Brown Line train Saturday night in Albany Park, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Chicago police officers tried to stop a vehicle at 8:22 p.m. in the 4600 block of North Albany Avenue, police said. That vehicle continued to drive until it hit a Brown Line gate and a train.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody and to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. His identification has not yet been released.

The crash occurred at 8:33 p.m. at 3058 W. Eastwood Ave., the Fire Department said. The crossing was shut down and power was turned off in both directions until about 9:30 p.m.

A 38-year-old man and another man were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition, the Fire Department said. It did not identify the driver in the incident.

A 42-year-old man was also taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital in good condition, the department said.

Brown Line service was temporarily suspended between the Kimball and Southport stations due to the collision, according to the CTA.
