Two Elgin men who were reportedly selling drugs from a minivan have been arrested on methamphetamine charges, according to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Julio Archundia-Sanchez, 25, of the 100 block of College Street, was driving a green Ford minivan that a police officer saw pull over on Mulberry Court near Mulberry Lane, a news release said. The front passenger, Jose Solorzano-Martinez, 31, of the 200 block of North Gifford Street, appeared to “engage in drug activity though the front passenger window,” the release said.

When the van pulled away, the officer stopped Archundia-Sanchez on a driving offense. Both men were arrested after a search of the van turned up crystal methamphetamine, glass smoking pipes, items associated with drug dealing and a fake Social Security card, the release said.
Solorzano-Martinez was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine, resisting a police officer and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Archundia-Sanchez was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a fraudulent ID card and no valid driver’s license.
Bail was set at $100,000 for both men, who are scheduled to next appear in court on Sept. 21.
