Child abuse
The Republicans are playing Russian roulette with our kids’ lives, and the loaded gun is called the COVID-19 delta variant. Sending kids to school with no mask, being unprotected, is going to be a super spreader. And I think that the parents, who are the anti-vax, anti-mask people, if their kids get sick, they should be held responsible for the hospital bill. And God forbid if their kids die, they should be charged with child abuse. I want to know, since when do those freedoms take priority over the lives of your kid or the lives of other people.

Dear Rex Huppke: Thank you for your article and horses letter on ivermectin. Not only informative, but the dangers are oh so true. I want to apologize to the horse community for the ignorance of some of our fellow humans who have caused the ivermectin shortage, and thank the horse for his wisdom. Rex, please keep your articles flowing. It gives me hope. I’m a longtime fan, and it is one of my favorite sections of the paper. Support our horses, and save the ivermectin for their worms. My dog tells me worms are quite uncomfortable and painful, and sends her regards.
Bring back death penalty
A Zion man was sentenced to 70 years for what he did to those two people. That’s 70 years that the taxpayers have to pay for him. The man should be put to death. Simple as that. Bring back the death penalty. If we did, maybe a lot of people wouldn’t decide to kill people. It might deter them a little bit. This is ridiculous, and yet us taxpayers have to pay for these idiots. We could clear out half the prisons if they could do it. Bring back the death penalty.
Nothing up his sleeve
We’ve got to get rid of Pritzker. He’s another one that’s all talk and no action, and I can’t understand what he wants with the governor’s office. Let’s get rid of him, and let’s get people that know what they’re doing and have some sort of education. Because this man is no good. Let’s get rid of this governor. It’s apparent he has nothing up his sleeve.
Brain-dead buffoon
Could you imagine the media storm if Donald J. Trump had ended his stay in Afghanistan the way Joseph Biden did? We have media trying to spin it to look good for Mr. Biden. They don’t know how to report anymore because they’re not the enemies of the state, they’re the lap dogs of the Democratic administration. The only way you would get truth out of reporters right now is if Donald Trump were in office. If this happened under Donald Trump, they would be looking under every rock for every person responsible for anything that went wrong. If an Afghan got a hangnail while getting on a transport plane to get out of Afghanistan, they would want to know who caused it so that they could court martial them. This is what happens when as a party the Democrats elect a brain-dead buffoon to run our country. The lights are on, but nobody’s there.
God help us
Biden and his administration are a disgrace to our country and to the world. During his news conference, after the deaths of 13 troops in Afghanistan, he showed no remorse. He talked about his dead son — Who cares, by the way — and looked like a puppet reading the teleprompter. He made a comment that he was directed to let certain news people ask questions. Excuse me, who is directing this president? He’s not a leader. He’s not presidential. He’s not protecting the American people here or in Afghanistan. And the terrorists are definitely not afraid of him. God help us. God bless America.
It’s a secret
It is a shame that the Zion Elementary School District is not releasing the amount of kids who have COVID. I noticed in Waukegan, they’re freely telling it. They’re letting the public know so that they can remedy the problem. In Zion, it’s a secret. What is the secret? We are not being told those who have COVID. We are educators. The parents don’t know who to call and ask. And we’re told, “Oh no, we can’t tell people.” It’s a health crisis. We need to be told, so that we can help each other. Please, Zion, start communicating with your educators and the parents so that we can all help each other.
