Officials were releasing little information about the shooting deaths of two men Sunday in Center Township in Porter County. The men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Cpl. Benjamin McFalls, public information officer with the Porter County Sheriff’s Department, in a news release Monday said the department responded to a shots fired call near the 600 block of Grandview Avenue just after 11 p.m. Sunday.

When police arrived on the scene they discovered two males who were dead from gunshot wounds the release said. The men have not yet been identified by the Porter County Coroner’s office.

“The two deceased subjects are the only persons involved in this incident,” McFalls said in the release.

The incident is isolated and there is no threat to public safety, according to the release.

The Porter County Coroner’s office did not respond to a request for information.
