It’s a shame the Daily Southtown didn’t put little Maggie Devries story on the front page of Sunday’s paper instead of another Black hall and another Black holiday for another paid day off work for state employees and schools. A gift we’ll never be able to repay, so much more heartwarming and inspiring.

To Jimbo from Chicago Heights complaining about illegal aliens crossing our borders, I say let them come. We have so many businesses closed, cutting hours and short on staff because we have some lazy Americans who want more money and government handouts. These aliens are some of the hardest workers I’ve seen. Some examples are in construction, restaurants, landscaping and roofers.

It’s terrible how Samuel L. Jackson shouts in all of his commercials. As soon as I see him, I immediately grab the remote and mute the TV. I don’t want a ruptured ear drum.

I would love to know what all you Trump loving Republicans out there think of your dear leader now praising and coaching on Putin as he goes into Ukraine to slaughter innocent people and take over an innocent country. Donald Trump thinks the man is a genius. He’s been a traitor since day one and all of you who still support him, you have your heads buried in the sand, and shame on you.

Janet, Tinley Park

To all those knuckleheads who think Putin is a genius for invading Ukraine, I think they all ought to go spend a month or two in mother Russia. In fact, let’s bring all those freedom convoys over there and have a bit of a protest about anything whatsoever, and see how much you enjoy living in that country. God bless America.

Caroline, Blue Island

People are saying the invasion of Ukraine wouldn’t have happened if Trump were president. Probably true because Trump was doing what his idol, Putin, wanted anyway. He was causing friction and weakening the NATO alliance, the alliance that kept the world safe from World War 3 for so long. Through his ignorance of history, his arrogance and of course his lethal incompetence, Trump continues to be a disgrace and a danger to this country.
