Trial balloon? It should be readily apparent Justice Samuel Alito’s draft opinion in the abortion case was leaked by Alito himself. The political right knows that for more than a generation the right of a woman to control her own body has been supported by 60% to 70% of the American people. The release was a trial balloon to give the political right a measuring stick for how severely they can write the opinion. When they figure out how many fig leaves they need to put on the repeal of Roe, it will probably amount to grudging acceptance of permitting abortion in the case of rape, incest and the life and health of the mother.
Hypocritical Dems: Members of Congress who were not even in the Capitol Jan. 6 say they feared for their lives, yet not one of them condemns the release of five justices’ home addresses or protesting at their residences despite that being against the law. Democrats are such hypocrites!
Interview lies: To me, it is less important who leaked the draft Supreme Court decision than that it was done, revealing the hypocrisy of the Republican-appointed justices. When going through questioning, all said Roe v. Wade was settled law. They lied during their job interviews. The Republicans are all about individual freedom, except when it comes to what happens in people bedrooms. This is what happens when justices are appointed based on their party affiliation rather than their adherence to the constitutional principles and settled law.
Killed by the ‘hoax’: As America witnesses its one millionth victim of the pandemic I can’t help wondering how many of those lost souls might’ve been saved if only they had ignored Trump’s proclamation that it was all a “hoax” and gotten vaccinated.
Fearful white men: One person has finally accurately described Fox News by comparing it to Weekend Update on “Saturday Night Live.” From what I observe from successful white males, Donald Trump spreads fear they will lose their power as the dominant force in the world and their masculinity is at stake. Trump is a fool, bully, liar and by far the least competent president in history. I would love to vote Republican if only there was one that made sense.
Look in the mirror: The nutcase Vladmir Putin said the reason for invading Ukraine was to rid it of the Nazi elements there. Turns out the only Nazi in the entire area was him.
