Heroes and Helicopters event at Frontier Sports Complex
“Heroes and Helicopters: A Community Safety Showcase” will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Frontier Sports Complex, 3380 Cedar Glade Drive.
The event brings members of the community together with safety organizations.
A medical helicopter will land at 10 a.m., and families can view first-responder trucks and equipment and talk with organizations serving the community.
The event is sponsored by state Rep. Janet Yang Rohr, D-Naperville, and state Sen. Laura Ellman, D-Naperville.
“I’m so excited to host this event, bring different organizations together and show what we all do to protect, cultivate and support our community,” Yang Rohr said in a news release. “Local libraries, fire departments, and so many other organizations will be able to talk with everyone from young kids to our senior citizens about what they do and how we all work together to make our community a better place.”
Among the community groups and law enforcement agencies scheduled to attend are 360 Youth Services, DuPage County Health Department, DuPage PADS, the Naperville Fire Department, Naperville Police Department, Naperville Area Humane Society, Warrenville Fire Department and the Will County Sheriff’s Department.
