It’s been a good couple of weeks for America. Despite obstruction from bitter, sore loser Republicans, the President was able to pass a bill to help average Americans. In other good news, it looks like crime kingpin Trump and his henchman Giuliani might at long last face reckoning for their criminal acts, something that should have happened sooner. Taken as a whole, the aforementioned events inspire an optimistic outlook for America’s future. Things are getting better, getting better every day.

Enough with the thoughts and prayers already. We need less guns if we want less children to die from gun shots. It is all about the odds.

Is it any wonder that red states are having a hard time keeping and attracting teachers? Low pay, little respect, ridiculous culture wars, banning books and micro-managing their curriculum is keeping good and talented people from teaching our children. Education is key for a thriving community. Our public schools are so important to support. Republicans are just trying to break their union. Vote Democratic.

Stolen nuclear secrets? The former guy is looking more and more like the outrageously evil villain in a James Bond movie.

E.J. Antioni of The Heritage Foundation noted a quote from the 1940 film “Pinocchio” in his column in the P.T.: “A lie keeps growing until it is as plain as the nose on your face”. This quote could not describe a Republican any better but Antoni seems to be as Republican as anyone can get in his article. Another “genius” with all kinds of criticism about Democratic progress, but — as is typical with Republicans — he has not a clue how to solve our problems and just complains about those that actually do something beneficial. Joe Biden has done more to benefit all of us in less than two years than the last guy did in four years and did so without being impeached or the subject of indictment. Republicans have lost the way and are now the party of lawlessness and disorder. This is not a TV series; this is real life with real life consequences for what comes out of your mouth. When will they grow up and realize we did not and do not deserve a mob boss loser in the White House?

“Enemies of the planet” is how Paul Krugman, a Nobel Prize winning economist and distinguished economics professor, describes Republicans’ blocking of all climate and environmental legislation. We constantly see massive wildfires, floods, hurricanes and droughts — worse than ever — destroying America. All the world’s climate scientists agree that our planet is warming, due in part to burning coal and oil. The destruction is costing us billions. Economists and climate scientists are sounding the alarm of an approaching crisis. So what do Republicans do? Promote coal and oil, then oppose electric cars and all other efforts to halt the increasing damage. “Enemies of the planet,” indeed.

The hateful rhetoric coming from the right is ridiculous. Lives are being threatened! They should never again complain about a street guy trying to pass a phony $20 dollar bill until they get their house in order. I understand the majority of Republicans hate what is happening. However, there should be a major campaign in opposition to the threats and menacing rhetoric. Silence under these conditions is not golden!

Get a job at Starbucks and get paid for not working. It’s becoming an American tradition!

I read that “King James” has signed a $97 million, 2-year extension deal with the Lakers. If we think about that amount of money given to one person, it is nauseating. How much money do the Lakers bring in from ticket sales? There are cities that don’t have $40 million for a year’s budget. Wow!
