Merrillville Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man Wednesday night.
Around 7:31 p.m., police were dispatched to the 5600 block of Pennsylvania St. regarding a man who had been shot, according to a press release. When they arrived, officers rendered aid to the victim before transporting him by ambulance to Methodist Hospital Southlake, the release stated.
However, the man succumbed to his wounds, according to the release.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Merrillville Police Department is requesting that anyone with any information related to the incident to contact Detective Van Rite at (219) 769-3722 ext. 349.
