The Community Star prints adoptable pet information weekly. Area shelters, rescues and foster groups can send contact information along with jpg photos of available pets — using Pets of the Week in the subject line — to news editor Paul Eisenberg at peisenberg@tribpub.com.
Chance is absolutely obnoxious with other cats, but would love to find a home where he can run and be the king of his castle. He’d be perfect in an adult-only household, with adopters who understand the feline mind and will give this boy time to unwind and relax into his new setting.
Borat is an almost 5-year-old tabby that was given up when his owner had to move and couldn’t take him with. Borat loves attention and will follow you around, rubbing up against your leg for pets. He does ok with other cats, but would be best in a home that doesn’t have very small children.
Haley is a shy 8-month-old, 11 pound female Chihuahua mix who frightens easily and needs an experienced adopter who will be patient with her. It may take a couple of days, but once she trusts you she will give you endless kisses and curl up on your lap.
Butch is a handsome 1-year-old male terrier that is outgoing, active and friendly. He loves to go on long walks and would be a great hiking partner. He enjoys playing with toys and giving kisses and is good with other dogs and would do best in a home with older children because he is so strong. He would love a big yard and a family to play with.
Maggie is a 30 pound, 5-year-old poodle mix who can be willful sometimes, so will need a strong consistent hand. She bonds easily with women and can be selective with men and can’t be around small children.
