Presidents like others need some down time. Laughing is good for the body. Dan from Palos Heights is quick to criticize Joe Biden for appearing on Jay Leno, but let’s remember all the time Trump spent golfing. Furthermore, talking about electric cars versus oil and gas is a teaching moment and many need to be informed. The show was a way to reach many in a relaxed setting.

Columnist Ted Slowik wrote that Republicans are responsible for candidates running after having domestic abuse or other challenges against their integrity. He failed to mention Bob Rita, who was accused of beating his girlfriend, and Joe Biden, who was accused of assaulting a staffer in Washington. Seems like both parties might have a problem.

Ted Slowik, it is a shame you and Gail Collins destroy the Daily Southtown with your own opinions. And you, Daily Southtown, should be fair and balanced, not as biased as you are. People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

Today we took a walk around the outside of Chicago Ridge Mall and we couldn’t believe all the garbage around where the Sears store used to be. It was like a dump over there. We just thought somebody needs to know so maybe they can clean it up a little bit or something.

Recently I was in the Orland Township building on Ravinia for early voting and I noticed every doorway has a “do not enter” sign. I asked the girl if it was part of their Halloween decorations, and she said it was for COVID-19. Well, we should be beyond that for COVID-19. It’s a public building and that gives a terrible message, and it looks terrible.

My husband and I purchased a middle range refrigerator at the end of March. Since that time, I have had four repairs. The calls were to replace the light in freezer, the freezer turning off at two different times and the rail on the freezer door breaking. I am told the failed parts are not made in America. Forty-three years ago we purchased an Amana Radarange, domestically manufactured. It has had one repair call. Draw your own conclusions.
