Overwhelming gift: I, along with many others, spent time in line at the Boston Market on Randall Road on Thanksgiving Day waiting to pick up meals for three in my family. During this half-hour wait, I had a brief conversation with a young couple that was ahead of me in line. When I went to the cashier to pay for my meals, she said there was no charge. The couple ahead of me had paid for my meals! I was overwhelmed. By the time this octogenarian reached to parking lot, I was only able to wave to the couple as they drove off. Because I have no way of knowing who they are, I am writing to “Speak Out” for publicly thank them for their generosity and to let others know that there are some very nice people in our community.
Reason for Musk probe: The Federal Trade Commission is a bipartisan agency that champions the interests of American consumers. The former head of security at Twitter, Peiter Zatko, told the Senate that Twitter doesn’t adequately protect customer data and is vulnerable to meddling by foreign actors. This is the reason that Twitter is being scrutinized. Biden did not suggest that Elon Musk was doing anything inappropriate but because of Musk’s relationship with other countries, it was worth looking at. This is not the first time that Twitter has been looked at by the FTC.
Reps being ruined: Donald Trump was recently observed dining out with white nationalist Nick Fuentes, which begs the question, “Why would Mr. Fuentes risk his reputation being seen in public with that loser?”
Investigate ’em all: Donald Trump had four years to look into Hunter Biden’s laptop and business dealings. He had a full-time investigator. Nothing was ever found. What Hunter did may be unethical but most likely not illegal. The new U.S. House has chosen to investigate people instead of fixing inflation, crime or gas, even though many independents voted for them to fix those very issues. I believe that if the House is investigating Hunter, then they need to investigate the $2 billion Jared Kushner got from Saudi Arabia. Hunter is peanuts next to Jared. And what about Ivanka’s 41 fast-tracked China trademarks? Let’s be fair and investigate them all.
