Armed Robbery

At 6:22 a.m. Nov. 27, La Grange Police Officers responded to a call from 7/11 at 9600 W. Ogden Ave. for an armed robbery that had just occurred. An unidentified man, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, wearing a facial covering and a black jacket, had entered the store, displayed a weapon, and demanded cash. A scuffle ensued, resulting to a minor injury to a store clerk, after which the suspect fled the store with an unknown amount of cash and in an unknown direction. Police were unable to locate the suspect

Criminal damage

A resident on the 200 block of 9th Avenue reported at 6:24 p.m. Nov. 28 that someone intentionally cut their outdoor solar lights. Damage estimated at $75.

Identify theft

A resident on the 100 block of Kensington Avenue reported at 10:07 a.m. Nov. 28 that someone opened a fraudulent Verizon account in their name; he then received a bill for it, but no financial loss reported.

Traffic violation

Brian Jackson, 37, of the 400 block of Elaine Terrace, Lakemoor, Illinois, was charged at 1:04 p.m. Nov. 22 at La Grange Road and Shawmut Avenue, with operating a commercial vehicle without a valid commercial license.

Theft

A resident reported at 2:53 p.m. Nov. 28 that on Nov. 25, between 3:15 and 6:45 p.m., someone took two credit cards without permission from the La Grange Fitness Center, 536 East Ave. An attempted $6,000 purchase was thwarted when the card was declined and no financial loss resulted.

Unlawful use of a weapon by a felon

Taisha Russell, 33, of the 9900 block of Holly Lane, Des Plaines, was charged at 1:26 p.m. Nov. 14 on the 300 block of Beach Avenue with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon or person in custody at a Department of Corrections facility.
