A police officer and a robbery suspect were shot Thursday afternoon in west suburban Lombard, officials said.
The officer and suspect were shot on Ann Street between Lincoln and Main streets, according to the village of Lombard and police. Ann is just north of Roosevelt Road and a few blocks south of Glenbard East High School.
The shooting stemmed from an armed robbery, the village posted on Twitter.
As of 4:50 p.m., one person had been arrested, according to a Lombard police dispatcher, who added, “The community is safe right now.”
The conditions of the police officer and robbery suspect were not given.
