After listening to 10 minutes of Biden’s speech about immigration, I had an epiphany. The Democrats want to destroy this country. If it isn’t CRT, if it isn’t illegal aliens coming into this country unchecked, now there’s an app where you can apply for asylum virtually from a computer overseas The Democrats are not only wrong, the Democrats are evil.

It’s high time the U.S. shuts off the Ukranian aid spigot which could possibly continue ad infinitum. President Zelenskyy has gone to the finance well once too often and our country is way beyond the humanitarian and arms funding sequence. This is not our war with Russia and why should we, the U.S. citizens, be the funding charity arm for it? Until our own southwest border is secured and properly guarded, I do not believe we American taxpayers should pay one more dollar to Ukraine.

Long ago in a faraway place, Champaign, Illinois, a great teacher warned our journalism class never to let personal biases affect reporting. Violators earned a failing grade. Recently a Chicago paper told of homeowners in Woodlawn protesting amid safety concerns about using a school to house migrants bused to Chicago. The reporter used the term asylum-seekers 10 times in her brief story while Ald. Jeanette Taylor called them migrants. Unless the reporter knew the illegal border-crossers’ personal stories, saying asylum-seekers revealed her bias.

President Joe Biden did not cause the high price of chicken and eggs, the bird flu did. The president is often blamed for the increased cost of energy and for inflation in general. Is he responsible for the high price of gas and food and other goods in the UK and across Europe too? And what has Kamala Harris done to alleviate the problems of our southern border? Isn’t she supposed to be in charge?

I just read President Biden said he would immediately begin turning away Cubans, Haitians and Nicaraguans who cross the border from Mexico illegally. Then why didn’t Biden also put in the Mexicans that cross the border illegally? Biden seems to have messed up on this idea about opening up the borders. It sure seems like it and now he’s trying to close them up again.

The Cook County assessor’s office is a very shady office that is an official’s paradise. There are many homeowners who have the same house as their neighbor but are paying more taxes. Why? I would like to see Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s tax bill. Chicago’s government will never change.

Sean Wolfe kills a Beecher family of five including an unborn child and received a measly two-year sentence in prison. That amounts to a little under five months for each death. Will County Judge Daniel Rippy should be disbarred and attorney George Leonard should go back to chasing ambulances. Perhaps if the family were related to these individuals the sentence would have the appropriate number of 20 years.

Michael, Chicago Heights, if you are so interested in the truth as a good Oath Keeper Proud Boy, pay attention to the lies and crimes Donald Trump has spewed and committed. Also, can you understand or are you aware of the damaging information and propaganda the Trump regime has spewed and has been proved. He is the major cause of the drastic decline of the Republican Party by his actions and comments.

Regarding the Bears, finally the nightmare is over. Worst ever team record. The only good thing is they have first-round draft pick and hopefully they’ll use that to downdraft to get better players. Unfortunately, I don’t see much improvement until this team is finally sold to either a corporation or somebody with a lot of money that knows how to run a business, like all the other competitive teams have, and they spend the money to get quality players and quality coaches. Until that happens, I’m going to keep watching the Brother Rice and St. Rita football teams.

Persons who want to possess a rifle for the purpose of hunting deer or other big game have no need for a semi-automatic rifle with a 20-round magazine. A true sportsman should be content to own a lever-action rifle or a bolt-action rifle.

In regard to Chicago having some of the worst traffic, our roadways are clogged with semis as a result of all the warehouses that were built. Big rigs ruin roads faster than cars do. Unfortunately the tax breaks these developers received reduced the funds for road repairs leading to a gas tax increase on the rest of us.

Tony from Blue Island, I believe you fell for all the MAGA Republicans lies. What dysfunctional group has to vote 15 times to get a speaker? And he gave away the store and is so weak. Kevin McCarthy is one person I would hate to see running this country. The only thing he wants is the title. Good luck to your Trump Republicans getting anything because Biden will veto it. Your fellow Republicans won’t get anything done in two years. What a bunch of liars and deniers.

I noticed a glaring mistake in Speak Out. Tony from Blue Island mentioned those who voted for President Biden will realize how gullible they are and realize they are a bunch of idiots. There must have been a typo or misprint. I’m sure Tony meant to say Donald Trump. I guess everyone is entitled to make an occasional mistake.

Bill from Plainfield, did you watch the two speeches by McCarthy and Hakeem Jeffries? McCarthy wants 1854 to come back and Jeffries wants 2023 to be the most progressive ever. Bill thinks the Democrats are retiring in big houses on the waterfront. Look again, Mar-a-Lago is calling for you.
